Don’t you ever cry because of the people who do not realise what a good thing we have. I blame them. They are ready to boo their own team if they’re not satisfied. That is not supporting that is just embarrassing and hurtful. To be honest, I don’t go to the matches because of our fans. Most of them are crazed hooligans, and only a few are true supporters and lovers of the glorious sport of football. I’m scared that a torch or a knife might injure me in some way, and it’s all because of them. The team played badly, but they gave the ‘fans’ what the ‘fans’ gave to them. And that is disappointment. I‘m not disappointed, I am sad and heartbroken, but not because we didn’t qualify, but because all of our players who are losing faith in our football and they are not to blame. That is how I see it. Because you cannot say that the team with Stanković, Vidić, Kolarov, Krasić, Ivanović, Žigić, Subotić, Ninković etc. in it is a bad team. They are all top players but they have no one to play for. This nation only loves the ones that win. And we tend to lose sometimes, so what does that bring to the people that represent us in the best way possible? I am ashamed and disgusted, and I am sorry that there aren’t many supporters such as you and me that appreciate everything those men do for us. Some people learned about the existence of our country through them and they didn’t even get a thank you. They are not sell-outs, they are not traitors, they’ve been treated badly and this is payback. And I support them. I cried a river at their comments, my love for them is so immense I thought I could feel their pain, and I do not want them feeling that way ever again. And if retiring from the international football is what will help them go on with their lives with more peace in it, then so be it. I will never forget any of the great things they did for our team and every single one of our players is a legend for me. One day, I will tell my kids about them, and tell them what strong figures they were and how proud they made me to be who I am. I will teach them to love the team that represents their country and to sing the anthem with pride - always.
